Lancaster ❤️s the Co-op
Our community speaks
Since my mid teens, being in bands locally that have practised at the Co-op has helped me find my tribe, and helped me feel like I belong to a larger community of like minded people.
A chilled out place with nice staff. Really reasonable rates which is important when you’re young and always skint. Many 'Hello Wembley' moments were created here.
Very friendly and so helpful to newcomers and musicians from all levels. It is such a valued space, for teens and adults to go and practice and help local artists to evolve.
It is an important part of Lancaster's music history. It played a part in my teen years as I rehearsed there as a drummer in a few bands. It gave me a place to be as a teen and I feel it is still relevant to teens of today.
I love that there is a place such as this in Lancaster. Open to everyone, offering a space for music and not being run for profit but to support local people.
I always practice here, and my parents practiced here before me.
It's a great place for me and my band to rehearse
Great place that has been going for years, so many local and up and coming bands benefit and have started here.
Lancaster Musicians Co-op made it possible for me to be in a band when I was a teenager. It is essential for young musicians to grow into professional musicians and professionals in the music industry.
Some of the best days of my teenage and early 20s life were spent at the Co-op. What they provide is more than a rehearsal space, it’s a platform for music communities.
A crucial place for the development of (young) musicians and bands. This place is at the heart of Lancaster’s cultural landscape. I used the place between 1984-1987 which helped me massively make paths in the music world.
It means so much just be able to have a city central place to be able to try out ideas and have the use of a recording studio when you do finally come up with something.
I was involved with the Co-op in the mid eighties as part of the group running the rehearsal rooms as well as playing in a band. I'm immensely proud of the Co-op and the fact that it's still going strong and serving a new generation of music lovers. Long may it continue!
The Co-op do a great job and provide a brilliant service to local musicians.
My music career all started here 30 years ago. If it wasn't for rehearsal and recording facilities like this, it would be hard for young musicians to get started. There is no other rehearsal rooms of this nature in what is a bustling city like Lancaster.
I am a professional sound engineer and musician. Without the Musicians Co-op I would not be doing what I do today.
I love Lancaster Music Co-op. They bring the community together
